At the brewery, experienced master brewers work with passion and a love of experimentation – and have won awards at international level.
The brewing process is deliberately regional: many of the raw ingredients come directly from South Tyrol to ensure authenticity and quality.
The range is extensive and anything but boring:
Batzen Dunkel, a multiple gold medallist, impresses with robust roasted malt aromas and a creamy depth.
Batzen Hell is smooth, well-balanced and exactly the sort of beer you simply want to order again.
With the Vienna Lager (Viennarillo), the brewery combines tradition and modernity – malty, amber-coloured and elegantly refined by delicate hop aromas.
The Colonial IPA brings the full force of craft beer to the glass: citrus, floral notes and a distinct bitterness.
And then things get exciting: seasonal and creative beers such as Gose, Barley Wine or the Alpine Kranewitten with juniper and mountain salt show
that here, they don’t just brew – they think. Beer as a playground – but at a damn high level.
The whole experience is complemented by excellent dining featuring South Tyrolean cuisine, a lively beer garden and an on-site shop.
With the South Tyrolean Beer Academy, Batzen Bräu goes one step further, imparting knowledge about the art of brewing and taste.
The result is more than just beer – a genuine world of experience that combines tradition and innovation.

The event takes place at Maretsch Castle in Bolzano – a historic 12th-century venue, set amidst an impressive backdrop of vineyards and mountain views.
Today, the castle serves as an event centre, offering the perfect blend of history and modern culture of indulgence.
What to expect:
A wide variety of craft beers from Italy and abroad
Numerous exhibitors and engaging conversations
A relaxed, convivial atmosphere
In short:
Not a stuffy event. Rather, probably the most relaxed and authentic way to experience beer culture – right in the heart of South Tyrol.
